Richard & His Shotgun Slip-ons

Some bikes arrive with a personality already formed. The Triumph Scrambler is one of them - rugged, purposeful, built to look like it's been somewhere and is ready to go again. But for Richard, something was missing from the moment he got it.

Meet Richard, proud owner of a Triumph Scrambler and one of our latest Hitchcox customers. He recently fitted our Triumph Street Scrambler Shotgun Slip-Ons.

Looking for Something That Matched the Bike

The Scrambler deserves a certain kind of exhaust. Not something polished and restrained. Not something that whispers when the engine wants to growl. Richard knew he wanted a shotgun style setup, quality you could see and feel, and a sound that made sense the moment you heard it alongside the bike.

"I really love the shotgun style exhaust for the Scrambler and wanted something of quality to put on the bike."

That combination, the right style and the right quality is harder to find than it should be.

Richard found it with Hitchcox Motorcyles.

From the First Start

There are moments with a motorcycle that you just remember. For Richard, it was the first time he fired the engine with the Hitchcox exhaust fitted.

"The minute I start the engine and hear the exhaust I think, that is perfect."

Not almost right. Not better than before. Perfect.

It's about sounding like the bike always should have. Richard didn't want something that overpowered his Scrambler - he wanted something that completed it.

"It needed an exhaust that sounded raw and throaty. The standard exhaust was too tame and quiet. It completely suits the way the bike looks and how it is expected to sound."

The Reactions Speak for Themselves

Richard doesn't have to tell people his bike sounds good. They notice before they even see it.

"I love riding through towns and seeing people turn to look after hearing it first."

"I always get approached wherever I stop. The bike is always complemented and admired by fellow bikers and enthusiasts. It's great when you are encouraged to rev the bike when you are riding anywhere."

That last detail, being encouraged to rev it is one of those small things that says everything. When strangers ask you to make more noise, you've got the sound right.

Built to Be Looked At, Not Just Heard

Richard was clear from the start that quality mattered as much as sound. And that shows up not just in how the exhaust performs, but in how it's made.

"The build quality, I love the weld ring around the exhaust and the logo that's engraved onto it. I wanted an exhaust that looks as good as it sounds and had to go for Hitchcox."

The welds on a Hitchcox exhaust aren't just structural. Under heat, they bloom into the blues and purples that are the mark of truly skilled fabrication, the kind that comes from a founder who spent years building to Formula One standards. Richard noticed. Everyone who walks up to his bike notices.

What's Next

Richard already has plans of blacking out more of the silver parts, a side number plate, a new gold chain. The vision for the bike is evolving, and the exhaust is the foundation it's built around.
