Help Guide: Hitchcox Motorcycles T100 & T120 Full Drag System
How to choose the right aftermarket exhaust set up for your Triumph T100 or T120
If you're looking to transform your Triumph motorbike with a full aftermarket exhaust, the Hitchcox Full Drag System for the T100 and T120 is one of the most dramatic and handcrafted Triumph exhaust upgrades available. This guide covers everything you need to know. From Euro ratings to material choice, so you can order with confidence.
1. Understanding Euro Ratings for Your Triumph Exhaust
When ordering a Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust full system, identifying your bike's Euro rating is the most critical step. This determines the placement and diameter of the O2 sensor bungs required for the bike to run correctly without a dashboard error light.
Even though this is a full front-to-back Triumph aftermarket exhaust replacement, your bike's Euro rating determines fitment.
Quick rule:
-
Euro 4 → approx. 2017–2020
-
Euro 5 → approx. 2021–2024
-
Euro 5+ → 2025 onwards
Euro 4/5 (2017–2024): These Triumph motorbike models feature a standard catalytic converter setup. The Hitchcox system replaces the "cat box" with a cross-over pipe. The O2 sensors are generally straightforward to relocate.
Euro 5+ (2025–Present): These engines have stricter ECU monitoring and revised sensor positions. Hitchcox configurations for Euro 5+ models include specific sensor bung heights to ensure the sensors remain within their operating window.
Note: Removing the catalytic converter on Euro 5+ models is more likely to trigger a "Check Engine" light without a proper fuelling adjustment, such as a remap at a Triumph dealership.

2. Material Options: 304 Stainless vs. Titanium
The choice of material affects the weight, heat dissipation, and the long-term character of your Triumph exhaust.
|
Feature |
304 Stainless Steel |
Grade 1 Titanium |
|
Weight |
Significant reduction over stock |
Ultra-lightweight (approx. 40% lighter than stainless) |
|
Heat |
Retains heat longer |
Dissipates heat rapidly |
|
Colour Change |
Develops a golden/amber hue over time |
Turns a distinct electric blue/purple near the headers |
|

More accessible/cost-effective |
Premium investment |
Both are excellent choices for a Triumph aftermarket exhaust, it comes down to your priorities. Stainless is the classic, durable option. Titanium is the ultimate weight-saving upgrade with a stunning heat-colour effect.

3. Aesthetic Finishes for Your Hitchcox Motorcycles Exhaust
The finish defines the look of your Triumph motorbike, whether you're going for a classic heritage build or a modern stealth aesthetic.
Brushed Finish: A raw, satin look that shows off the grain of the metal. Easy to maintain and minor scratches can often be buffed out with a Scotch-Brite pad.
Ceramic Black: A high-temperature coating applied over the metal.
-
Pros: Excellent heat insulation and a clean, blacked-out custom look
-
Cons: Cannot be polished if scratched; requires careful installation to avoid chipping
-
Only available on the stainless steel option
Please note: whilst our pipes are made to the highest possible standards using the best materials, they do need to be cleaned regularly if ridden in adverse weather conditions. This is especially during winter when UK roads are covered in rock salt, which is highly corrosive. We can't accept warranty claims based on corrosion through lack of proper cleaning.
4. Construction Style: Pie Cuts vs. Mandrel Bends
Hitchcox Motorcycles is world-renowned for pie cut craftsmanship, but it's important to understand what you're choosing when speccing your Triumph exhaust.
Mandrel Bends The tubing is bent using a machine with an internal mandrel to ensure the pipe doesn't wrinkle or collapse.
-
Look: Smooth, continuous curves
-
Performance: Excellent, consistent airflow
Pie Cuts The curve is created by welding multiple small, wedge-shaped sections of pipe together.
-
Look: The iconic "lobster back" aesthetic, it screams bespoke and handmade
-
Craftsmanship: Requires significantly more labour and high-precision TIG welding
-
For many Hitchcox customers, the visible weld beads are the primary reason for the purchase. They look epic!

5. Design Notes: Triumph Exhaust Full Drag System
-
Reuses the stock clamps and AV mounts
-
Comes with a mounting bracket to reuse the stock rubber dampener for the side stand
-
Please be aware this is the loudest Triumph aftermarket exhaust option for the T100 & T120, we want every rider to understand this before ordering. There are no removable dB killers.
