From Swansea to Brackley: Glenn’s Visit to the Hitchcox Motorcycles Workshop
Inside the HQ: Where Every Hitchcox Exhaust Begins
Every Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust starts life as a length of raw pipe in our Brackley workshop. Including yours.
Most of our riders never see what happens between that raw pipe and the finished system on their bike. This summer, two of them went to find out.
Glenn (@the_swansea_scrambler) wanted to see where it all began
Glenn, better known on Instagram as @the_swansea_scrambler, fitted a set of our long drag pipes to his Triumph Bobber in the summer. He’s been eager to see where they came from ever since.
So he teamed up with fellow rider Ray, @thebonniebiker, who met him in Oxford. The pair rode up to Brackley together and spent the day with Tom and the team, getting a proper look at the fabrication and finishing that turns raw pipe into the exhaust on your bike.
The question we get asked most: “where are the turntables?”
If you follow us on social media, you’ll know this one. Across our channels, people regularly ask where the turntables are.
During the visit, Tom gave Glenn and Ray the answer. You won’t find a single turntable welding machine in our workshop. Every weld is done by hand.
The moment that surprised Glenn
Plenty of things caught Glenn’s eye during the day, but one moment stood out. Tom handed him one of our full systems, and Glenn’s reaction was immediate:
“Wow, it doesn’t feel like you’re holding anything at all.”
The film everyone’s been watching
We filmed the whole visit, and it has quickly become one of our most-watched films ever. One viewer summed it up in the comments:
“Fantastic insight into an artist and his crew at work👌🏼”
See it for yourself
If you’ve ever wondered how a Hitchcox exhaust is really made, watch the film and see the workshop for yourself. If you like what you see, you can explore our full range of handcrafted Triumph exhausts, or take a look at the long drag pipes Glenn is running on his Bobber.
