Help Guide: Triumph Bobber & Speedmaster - Hitchcox Motorcycles Slip-Ons & Full Systems
How to choose the right aftermarket exhaust set up for your Triumph Bobber or Speedmaster
Upgrading your Triumph exhaust system is one of the most impactful ways to enhance both sound and performance. At Hitchcox Motorcycles, our systems are designed to be Euro 4/5 and Euro 5+ compatible for all Triumph Bobber and Speedmaster models from 2017 onwards to the current year.
However, the specific configuration of your Triumph aftermarket exhaust depends heavily on your model year and whether you are installing a slip-on or a full system.
Critical: Year-Model Identification
Before choosing your Triumph exhaust parts, you must identify your bike's production year. Triumph updated the catalytic converter (CAT) design for the 2025 model year, and this affects pipe geometry.
Pre-2025 Models: The link pipes are held onto the CAT using clamps. The attaching ends of these pipes feature distinct bends.
2025 Onwards: The link pipes are welded directly to the CAT. To accommodate this, the attaching ends are straight.
Ensure you select the correct year variant at checkout to guarantee the pipe geometry matches your CAT interface.

1. Triumph Exhaust Slip-On Options (Euro 4/5 & Euro 5+ Compatible)
Our slip-on range is designed for those who want a signature Hitchcox Motorcycles sound while keeping installation straightforward. All slip-on options are sold as a pair and allow you to retain the stock catalytic converter or upgrade to an X-Pipe later.

5. How to Check Which Model Year You Have
If you're unsure which version of the Triumph Bobber or Speedmaster you have, check the connection between the muffler and the catalytic converter under the engine:
Look for Clamps: If there are clamps joining the pipe to the CAT box, it's a Pre-2025 (Euro 4/5) model. Order the version with Bends.
Look for a Weld: If the pipe is welded solid to the CAT box with no clamps, it's a 2025+ (Euro 5+) model. Order the version with Straight ends.
Note: All Hitchcox Motorcycles full systems for both generations include the necessary mounting bracket to ensure you can still use your stock side-stand dampener.
6. Which Triumph Exhaust Option Should You Choose?
Go for Slip-Ons if you want:
-
A straightforward bolt-on Triumph aftermarket exhaust upgrade
-
To retain the catalytic converter and avoid a remap
-
Adjustable sound via removable dB killers (Reverse Cones or Spiked Internals)
-
A raw, unfiltered tone straight away (Billet End Caps)
Choose the Full Drag System if you want:
-
Maximum sound and visual impact
-
A complete front-to-back Triumph exhaust transformation
-
Greater performance potential with the CAT deleted
