Our ambassador Tommy Brady completes his Thruxton 1200R with a Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust

For some riders, a motorcycle is transport. For others, it's an escape. Hitchcox ambassador Tommy Brady falls firmly into the second camp and after fitting a Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust to his Triumph Thruxton 1200R, he says the ride has never felt more complete.

Why Riders Choose a Hitchcox Exhaust

Before committing to any aftermarket exhaust, most Triumph owners do their homework, comparing sound, build quality, and performance claims across the market. Tommy was no different.

Why did you decide to customise your bike with a Hitchcox exhaust?

"I did my research before making the decision, and Hitchcox really stood out. It's not just about making the bike sound incredible, you're getting the performance to back it up too. For me, I wanted the best of both worlds: something that completely transforms the sound while actually enhancing the bike."

That combination of genuine performance alongside a transformed sound is exactly what sets a purpose-engineered Triumph exhaust apart from an off-the-shelf alternative.

Why He Rides

Ask any dedicated rider why they get on two wheels, and you'll usually get an answer that has very little to do with the bike's spec sheet.

What's your favourite thing about your bike?

"The way it makes me feel. The second I get on the bike, everything else disappears. Whatever is going on in my head gets left behind, and I'm completely locked into the ride. It's just me, the bike and the road. It's free therapy."

It's a sentiment that runs through the entire Hitchcox Motorcycles community: riding isn't just about getting somewhere, it's about the feeling of the journey itself and sound plays a huge part in that feeling.

The Difference an Aftermarket Exhaust Makes

A well-engineered Triumph aftermarket exhaust does more than turn heads, it changes the character of every ride.

How has your Hitchcox exhaust changed your ride?

"The sound completely brings the bike to life. It gives it so much more character and makes every ride feel like an occasion. I've also noticed that traffic seems to hear me coming and gives me more space as I pass, which is definitely a bonus!"

Beyond the emotional lift, that added awareness on the road is a practical benefit riders don't always expect from an exhaust upgrade but one many come to appreciate.

The Moment That Sums It Up

Some upgrades are memorable for a single ride. For Tommy, it's less about one specific moment and more about how every ride now feels.

Can you share a memorable experience you've had while riding your bike with the new Hitchcox exhaust? What made it stand out?

"For me, it's not even one particular moment, it's that feeling every single time I ride. You pull back on the throttle, hear that raw sound come alive, and you can't help but smile. It's addictive. That sound has completely changed the experience of riding the bike."

That's the kind of consistency Hitchcox Motorcycles exhausts are built for, not a one-off wow moment, but a sound that stays satisfying ride after ride.

What Sets Hitchcox Motorcycles Apart

The sound might be what gets riders' attention first, but it's rarely the only reason they stick with a brand.

What stood out to you about Hitchcox Motorcycles?

"Everyone talks about the sound, and once you hear it for yourself, you understand the hype. But what really impressed me was the build quality. When you see the exhaust up close, the craftsmanship and attention to detail are flawless. It looks every bit as good as it sounds."

That's no accident, every Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust is handcrafted in our Brackley workshop, engineered specifically for Triumph motorcycles, and built to a standard that matches the sound it produces.

What's Next for Tommy's Build

Every custom Triumph is a work in progress, and Tommy already has his next moves planned.

What modifications do you have planned for the future?

"Next up, I'm thinking shorter clip-ons to drop the bars and give the bike a more aggressive riding position. I also want to remove the wing mirrors and go for lane splitters. I'm slowly refining the bike and making it exactly how I want it."

We'll be following along as the build evolves and we've no doubt the Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust will stay part of the plan.
