How a Hitchcox Exhaust Transformed This Speed Twin Cafe Racer

Bike: Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS Cafe Racer (limited edition)
Rider: Junsu, South Korea

Some bikes are rare before you even touch them. The Speed Twin 1200 RS Cafe Racer was a limited-edition model from the moment it rolled out of the factory, and for South Korea-based rider Junsu, that exclusivity was only the beginning. With a Hitchcox Motorcycles system now fitted, his Speed Twin has become something even rarer still and the story of how it got there says a lot about what draws riders to Hitchcox Motorcycles from the other side of the world.

Why did you decide to customise your bike with a Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust?

For a lot of riders, the search for the right exhaust starts long before any parts are ordered - hours spent reading forums, watching reviews, and, more often than not these days, scrolling through YouTube. That's exactly how Junsu found his way to Hitchcox Motorcycles.

"While searching for an exhaust that fits the new Speed Twin 1200rs Caferacer, I stumbled upon Hitchcox Motorcycles on YouTube. The sound from the video blew me away right away, which made my decision easy."

Sometimes it really is that simple. One video, one sound, decision made.

What's your favourite thing about your bike?

Owning a limited-edition model is one thing. Owning the only one of its kind, modified in a particular way, in an entire country, is another thing altogether and it's clearly something Junsu takes real pride in.

"I love that it's a limited-edition model, and even more so that it's currently the only Speed Twin 1200 RS Caferacer in Korea."

There's a particular satisfaction in knowing your bike isn't just rare on paper, but genuinely one-of-a-kind on the road.

How has your Hitchcox Motorcycles exhaust changed your ride?

Throttle response is one of those things you don't always notice until it's fixed. For Junsu, the difference between stock and Hitchcox Motorcycles wasn't subtle - it changed the entire character of how the bike delivers its power, and even where in the rev range he now prefers to ride.

"With the stock exhaust, the throttle response felt a bit flat when accelerating. After installing the Hitchcox Motorcycles system, the power delivery from the back feels much punchier and snappy, making the whole ride feel far more nimble and exciting. I also find myself keeping the engine in a sweet spot about 500 to 1,000 RPM higher than before."

That last point is a telling detail, a genuine shift in riding style, not just a cosmetic or auditory upgrade.

What stood out to you about Hitchcox Motorcycles?

Junsu's comments touch on something that comes up again and again with Hitchcox customers: the value of specialisation over mass production. Rather than building exhausts for every make and model on the market, Hitchcox Motorcycles has always focused on doing right by classic motorcycles specifically and for riders like Junsu, that focus builds confidence before a single part is even fitted.

"Unlike other brands that mass-produce exhausts for all kinds of motorcycles, I really respect that Hitchcox Motorcycles focuses strictly on classic icons like Triumph and Royal Enfield. As someone who genuinely loves classic bikes, that specialization built a lot of trust for me."

What modifications do you have planned for the future?

For Junsu, the exhaust is just the start. Like many cafe racer owners, he's already thinking about the next stage of the build, refining the bike's silhouette and stance to match the style he's going for.

"I'm currently looking for a proper rocket cowl to match the Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer style, and I'm also planning a custom wheel upgrade in the future."

It's the kind of ongoing project that cafe racer owners know well, each modification building on the last, with the bike's overall character sharpening a little more each time.
